My name is Vixon A. John and I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I attended the former Erasmus Hall High School for Science and Math, where I became involved in active student leadership by volunteering as an intern for the current Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke’s Office. I’ve recently graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz, with a major in Journalism and a minor in Black Studies. I became the founder and president of the film club (Film Interest Leadership Movement), producing short films and organizing student film festivals for my campus. I also became involved with a social/cultural, student-run publication called The Fahari-Libertad, which I became the president and co-editor of in 2007, writing articles, organizing programs and heading my staff in producing issues monthly.

My passion is to get involved with videography/filmmaking where I can put my production skills to use and make short films/documentaries that serve a purpose to my community. I’m very sociable and know that good networking skills, electronically and personally, is important in making a lasting impression to future employers and associates. Through this ePortfolio, you will see examples of my writing from school and videos clips that I have worked on that are currently on the web for everyone to see.
